Farmers Insurance
Farmers Insurance was began by John C. Tyler and Thomas E. Leavey in 1928 with the first auto insurance division. In the 1920′s, auto insurance existed, but it was at high rates. Farmers, ranchers and others who lived in the extremely rural areas were in need of an affordable insurance. Tyler and Leavey recognized this along with the fact that those in the rural areas were the safest drivers, being less of a risk which earned them the right to have auto insurance which they could afford and reward them for their safe driving.
On March 28, 1928, Charles Brisco was the first auto insurance customer when he insured his 1925 Cadillac Pheton. Since 1935 with the launching of the truck insurance division, Farmers has evolved up through 2009, adding various services and acquiring other companies. Farmers insurance is one to the top 5 insurance companies in the United States today.
Farmers has expanded from auto and truck insurance to personal, commercial as well as life insurance and mutual funds. The renter and condominium owners no longer have to struggle in order to insure their home and belongings; Farmers insurance has a policy available to them as well. Recreational vehicle owners can also obtain insurance coverage for motorcycles, boats, and RV’s. All of our insurance needs can be met with Farmers Insurance.
